Focus 1.8 TDCI - Oil overfilled - meandering

My car was serviced a couple of weeks ago and I've just checked the oil for the first time. It's over the maximum mark on the dipstick.

Does this matter, and if so what needs doing?

If it is only a little over, (say no more than 1cm) then just leave it.

If it is 2cm or more then you probably should drain out about 1 litre.
