lexus is 220d - dpf problem - fifilatrec

vsc light appeared, then car went into limp home mode. garage diagnosed dpf, paid 800 to replace. next journey of a few miles, lots of exhaust smoke, next journey vsc light appeared again and then again into limp home mode. Garage going to do another diagnostic, would appreciate any advice

Ask the garage EXACTLY what was replaced. For example, did they fit new sensors on the DPF at the same time as putting the new DPF on? DPFs usually have a differential pressure sensor and a temp sensor.

Until you know exactly what work was done previously, it's hard to say.

Either way, you've paid for the car to be fixed properly and it hasn't been, so I'd take if back for them to sort it out.
