It is located up high on the drivers side ,to the right of the instrument pod.Very likely that the wiring and resistor have burnt contacts/pins.You will need the modified resistor and wiring harness, about £120 from Renault and a lot of patience to fit them.A real pain of a job.

Hi elekie

Many Thanks for the information much appreciated

This has been a nightmare to sort out as the info I have found says its on the passenger side which i have removed the glove box and all the attached panels but still not traced the dam thing .

Could you let me know if i can get at it by removing the the driver side panels or does the instrument panel have to be removed.

For information even the manuel for this car shows that the fuse box is on the passenger side at the side of the glove box and in fact it is fitted to the roof of the glove box another pain in the a--e!!

Thanks Again

The heater fan and resistor are located behind the glovebox on the standard Megane model, easy access. However on the Scenic, the fan motor is behind the glovebox, but the resistor is top right of heater box.Removing the instrument pod makes the job a little easier, but not much. You will need to remove centre console,radio/heater centre panel, glovebox and dash panels by steering column before you can even see the resistor. Then it is still very awkward.

I and a mate tried to do the job today and could not get to the resistor took the instrument panel out only to find the plastic moulding in the way it gave a small opening to the right of the clock which you could shine a torch and see the resistor but try as we did could not get a tork head on it to remove it .Even if we did how would you get the new one in a screwed up.

Is it worth taking out the driver side panels to gain access as I am not sure this will make a difference please any advice will be much appreciated

Cheers
