No doubt the badge will sell it even if the looks don't. www.autocar.co.uk/car-news/motor-shows/new-audi-q7...d

Even as a Subaru fan, almost everything is better looking than the Tribeca.

But - a LWB Outback with 7-seats, 3.0 H6 diesel and an efficient torque converter automatic would still have me reaching for the bank transfer

Looks ok, I like the interior a lot.
The grille treatment is the only appearence bit I'm not sure about.
Seems a bit more softroader-like with the weight savings and no standard air suspension.

Quite RT.

If Subaru were going to Dieselise an engine i'd have wanted either the 2.5 4 at least or preferably the 3.0 6, quite why they thought that 2.0 litre would cut the mustard i really can't understand.

Judging by how 3.0 litre MB and BMW Diesels shift, and instantly, a 3 litre flat 6 driving all 4 through a beefed up TC auto would be motoring bliss, as a extra benefit 6 pot Diesels sound and feel right where most 4 pot Diesels belong in tractors.

Part of Subaru pleasure is taking advantage of that fantastic instant grip in any weather, engine lag renders the car no better than those horrid things saddled with an automated manual or DSG satan box that then spins the front wheels uselessly when the thing finally makes its mind up.

New Q7 looks a lot better than the thuggish present model, grill apart.
