Peugeot Partner Teppee - Keys fall apart - mrspotman

I received my car in May and 1st key fell apart in ignintion in August. 2nd key fell apart last month. Peugeot are refusing to deal with it under warranty

If you google for "peugeot keys falling apart" you will find that it seems to be a common problem.

Not cheap apparently.

Solution? Inform the dealer who you bought it from, by letter,registered post, that you are giving them an opportunity to fix the problem otherwise you will go elsewhere, pay to have it fixed and invoice them for the costs. if they then fail to pay you will sue them in the small claims track of the county court. You can actually do this online, search for moneyclaim online.

Makes a change - all Peugeots used to fall apart - about the only bit that remained intact were the ignition keys!

Hyundai keys are also made of cream crackers or similar, both my sister and a friend have i30s and both have been left stranded after the key fell apart when they removed the key from the ignition, the metal key part stayed in the lock and couldn't be removed.

However on both occasions the dealer dealt with the problem under warranty.

The keys are apparently the same as the cars are manufactured at the same place. The only difference is the badge

What do you epxect from French car makers? Quality?

Peugeot keys have been falling apart since locking controls were added thrity years ago. The maker obvioulsy does not care.

(And I am being serious. they clealry don't care)..
