Toyota 1.6 vvti T3 3dr 2004 - Heater in Rear Windscreen Melted - HondaManUK

Is it just a case of replacing the glass or is there more to it? Many thanks

If the heating elements/lines are broken or damaged, then there is not much else you can do other than replace the rear screen.

That's what I thought but wondered if there was actually a fault with the electrics which might need mending and not just the screen.

I remember once repairing a broken element with electrically conducting glue; obviously this won't work if the elements/lines are buried deep in the glass.

The only electrical fault you could suffer with those symptoms would be excessive voltage but as everything else in the car uses the same supply I would have thought you would have had other failures.

You can check it by connecting a meter across the battery with the engine running, it should read about 14.4 volts.
