Skoda Fabia - skoda fabia rear door wont open - doormat

My 06 fabia's rear passenger side door is jammed shut. Any ideas to get it open?

Not that uncommon by the sound of it, althought there might be different causes.. There are several threads on Briskoda including this example.

In the past I have had good results with the following method.

Get an assistant to keep pressing the unlock button on the remote while you constantly thump the offending door handle or panel next to the door lock.

Once you get it to open either change the lock, or if into DIY, take it apart.

Carefully check the PCB for dry solder joints or cracks & clean the commutator in the motor.
