How do I fit an adjustment CO screw on a mk1 sport

Think there is an allen screw on the metering block with a white plastic cap covering it if its the same as the early Mk 2.

But you need a gas analyser to do it correctly.

Yes I was told that by a local 1 man band vw garage.he in formed me that mine adjustment screw is missing I ordered one thought this site.but I think it is the wrong one.can I send pictures on here of the one I have?

This car will be fitted with Bosch k-jetronic system.You will need a long 3mm hex/allen drive to adjust the co.I doubt very much if the adjuster screw is missing.Some have a spring loaded turret adjuster that sits above the metering unit and others have a blanking screw that needs to be removed before the co screw can be reached.

Ok I'm just going off what the guys told me at the garage

I can see the hole down on the meter head.i will see if I have a allen key. to fit it.but I won't try to adjust it ..The car runs a bit rough.on tick over. This is the reason I took it for a tune . that's when they told me they were unable to adjust the CO admissions. Thanks for all your advice. Still wish I could show the part I brought as from what your saying it's the wrong part. Kev
