Readers will know I have a Hyundai. Whilst looking through a Hyundai forum I spotted a poster contributing to an older topice abour breakdown services.
If Avant doth permit it I reproduce below the gist of my reply to the said contributor........
The first post of a certain “johnwendry” went something like this :-
Well, As far as I concerned, Hyundai offers only 1 year Roadside Assistance along with the new car. Booklet is right. I know one good Roadside assistance service in London, UK. You can get help from them as well.

I replied thus :-
Well, as far as I'm concerned you're talking undiluted tripe....however given it's your first post and given you're touting some tin pot breakdown service I rather suspect you're seeking free advertising and zilch else.
For the purposes of accurate clarification I quote the relevant section from the UK Hyundai website....... Passenger Cars UK and Channel Islands As part of the 5 Year Unlimited Mileage Warranty package, our Roadside Assistance Programme provides fives years of free, 24-hour roadside assistance should your car break down anywhere in the UK or Channel Islands - even at your home address. For assistance in the event of a breakdown, call 0800 980 2733 (UK and Channel Islands) For customers who have suffered a breakdown and are deaf, hard of hearing or speech impaired, SMS text messaging is available. SMS to 07900 444 999 Please have the following information ready when you call: Vehicle registration number Model and colour of vehicle Your location A contact telephone number if at all possible. I agree the handbook refers to one year's cover....but, in practice, and as per the website...it's five years. I am no huge Hyundai fanboy but credit where it's due they do, actually, give you the five year cover they say they're giving. Kia give you 7 yrs warranty but just one years breakdown. And Hyundai's five year warranty is OK but doesn't cover everything...as most of us know. I think a lot depends on how dealers chooses to interpret the terms of the warranty and in some circumstance one has to stand one's ground in order to get things done....both at dealer level AND at Head Office level.
Just in case anyone is wondering about the integrity of this poster I would just point out that within the past week or so he has subscribed to forums and classified ad websites which run to approx six pages on Google. Strangely enough all posts just happen to mention the Japanese import site and breakdown service he happens to have mentioned here. (the one with only a mobile phone number for contact) Among the sites he has registered with are......... Evo Journal UK Campsite JDM VIP FastCac Forum Free Clasified Skyline Owners GoodSam Club BimmerForum Scirocco Forum Nissan Juke Forum MoneySavingExpert.com Freeads CarForum Mitsubishi Pajero Forum CityData GreyNomads R Pod Nation PSU Subaru forum SXOC AdsGlobe BMW 5 Series Forum and so on.......... Could just be me being pessimistic but I suspect you might not see him entering into too many ongoing dialogues in connection with Hyundai i10's in the foreseeable.....
