I can't think of any Japanese cars that look beautiful, they always look awkward and fussy as though they were designed by a layperson and have to infil every plain area with something or other - odd from the people who brought us of the design principle of zen.

That said, this Yaris looks ok for what it is and better that older models in that it has a bit of 'character' and uniqueness - but then again, I would not be the target market anyway, so maybe they are doing an M&S alienating their existing customers while embarking on a futile attempt to attract new ones?
