Saw the bit on Watchdog about VAG motors blowing their coils. I obviously didn't catch which models (or is it all of them) that are affected.
I have a late Mk3 1.6 petrol. Am I OK or is something going to go bang?

You should be fine.
The coil pack issue is with the 1.8, 20v turbo engine, I think for 2001 model year on but there is some confusion about this, at least in my mind.
Of course, your car is 5 years old now so anything *could* happen in theory, just not due to this design fault.
