megane 1.9 dci 04 what is sensor on rear of gearbox i snapped off and how i going to get it out

If this is manual gearbox,then the only sensor I can think of ,located passenger side,low down!with a 3 pin connector,will be the reverse light / neutral gear position switch.it unscrews from the gearbox casing.
