Audi A6 Allroad - A6 Allroader Quattro 2.5td - billser1
I am about to buy 2003 model of this Allroad. My mechanic has concerned me with some scares about problematic gearboxes. Is there anybody that has suffered any issues because when I read reviews I read the opposite of his concerns. Is there anyone that could advise me about any difficulties they've suffered ? Is it the ZF 5HP tiptronic as in the non Allroad?
I think they're pretty reliable - mine was still OK at 180,000 miles when I sold it. Had a couple of fluid changes in that time though.

Your mechanic should also have warned you about the 2.5 diesel rotary pump issues. Check out any active VW, Audi, Skoda forum and you'll see plenty of horror stories. 1.9PD 5 speed manual 2005 MY latest with the Bosch injectors for best reliability and economy.

You will either be very lucky and it will cost you very little but a vehicle this complex and this old will more than likely cost you dearly.
