Honda Civic - honda civic window rubber seal degraded - DennisPennis

The passenger window rubber seal seems to have degraded and is now misshaped so the window will open but it cannot shut without someone helping to drag it up into position.

Can I replace this myself and how?

You have not stated the age of the car,but there is no reason why you can't replace the rubber yourself.The door card ,window mechanism and drop glass will need to be dismantled.I would check the price of a new rubber from Honda first,as some parts can be amazingly expensive.

Thing is it would take a guy who kows what he's doing about 30mins but me...probably 4 hours :)

I think Honda is the only place that seels the parts, which means paying a huge price for a bit of rubber. I could try some WD40 in the meantime but thing the deforming of the rubber won;t help.
