Volkswagen Golf - MK4 GT TDI - almera1.4GX

Hi guys & gals.

I picked up my Golf GT TDI 115BHP a month ago which is chipped to 147.

The car has been fully serviced a month ago when I purchased the car, it drives very well. I'm rolling on 17" wheels can't help I'd imagine, so I've found a set of stock 16".

My first tank gave me 42MPG & the second tank was 44MPG - surely I should achieve above 50MPG?

Probaly important to mention that the service consisted of oil filter, new oil 5W30, air filter, pollen filter and of course the fuel filter. All parts were bought in Volkswagen.

In summer on the motorway yes - colder weather, around town, sadly not.

Depends how it's driven too - people with poor on/off throttle/not looking ahead driving styles can get through a lot of fuel needlessly and the Mk4 is hardly a light car.
