Where does HJ get the data for "What's bad"?

Where does HJ get the data for "What's bad"? - ear8dmg

Just wondering where HJ gets the info on faults for the "What's Bad" part of the car reviews? I can't see an obvious place for users to report faults, other than mentioning them on the forum or using the "ask a question" facility.

I sent him an email about the high cost of rear wheel bearing renewal (part of the hub as is now common) on one car, within a few days it was listed on the whats bad section.
