Mazda 3 - odometer reading advancing too fast - liverpool1

hello can someone advise why my odometer reading is counting my distance travelled too fast.

Is it measuring kilometers? If so, it would advance 8 units for every 5 miles driven.

This is extremely unlikely to be the case (but check you are not mixing up your units).

What evidence leads you to this belief?

As all the above plus 1 possible explanation.

Certain Peugeots (and I think it was 307/308 models) suffered from an electrical glitch which caused the odometer to over-read quite considerably.

As you have not come back and told us what you are driving and what makes you think this is happening, it's hard to say...
