Anyone any tips on getting the green algae off a convertible hood? advised to power wash it but seems a bit harsh.

I've heard Milton (baby bottle sterilising solution) is good for this, but try it somewhere it doesn't show to test it first.

So where, exactly, on a rag-top does it not show Tom.

Hi , it's really difficult to do .
I've cleaned several with TFR ,traffic film remover ,it's an alkali cleaner widely used in the car trade .
Mix up a solution at about twenty to one with warm water ,work it in to the hood with a bathroom type nail brush .Its hard work but using a standard scrubbing brush is to aggressive and will rub up the material .
Once you've worked the TFR into the fabric use a pressure washer to remove the soapy residue and the loosened dirt ,when that's done use a wet and dry vac to remove the last of the dirt and the excess water .
It'll take about 8 hours to do and is really hard graft ,so it's best to set aside a weekend to do it.
It's better exercise than hours in the gym !

When I had my MX5 the user forum always seemd to suggest Renovo in two variants for vinyl or mohair. I found a soft scrubbing brish and hot soapy water was cheaper and worked fairly well.
