Peugeot 407 SW 2L diesel HDi Auto - pollution warning light - sandy56
Had the pollution warning light come up on my 407 SW. I had noticed a stuttering of the engine when accelerating and was planning on booking it into the dealer as I still have 6 months warranty on the car.
Booked the car in and had to pay for connecting to the computer system to fault find~£80.00. Problem was a partially blocked fuel filter which I didn't have to pay for. ( I think it should have been replaced on the last service ~40k, and they didn't bother or forgot.)

Had to fit new brake pads as they were very low and due soon anyway.

So far the 407 has been fine- fast enough, smooth and comfortable. I have had the car for 6 months and it is now nearly 4 years old. I plan on keeping it for about 4-5 years, assuming it behaves itself.

The 407 is a brilliant car, you get a lot for your money and its a smooth comfortable drive. I once did a coast-to-coast in mine, middle of summer, endless traffic problems going to Scarborough, but I got there relaxed and not tired in the slightest.

Your best friend will be someone nearby with Peugeot Planet and Lexia, as they have the same equipment that dealers use but charge only "beer money" to run a diagnostic check. Some of these people aren't amateurs either and know their way around the system.
