as I have a high bite point now but was wondering if I need to replace flywheel or not?

There are DMF kits available on ebay so I would say the answer is yes. If the clutch doesn't slip I wouldn't worry about it, I bought a 406 with the clutch pedal right at the top of its travel, I have done over 25,000 miles since then and its no worse.

The flywheels on the petrol VAG motors seems to be a lot more durable that the diesel ones, my A4 had 125k on it's original one when it was sold on.

You need to quote the engine code from the ID label in the Spare Wheel bay like ALK. They fitted two different DMF versions around that time. Regards Peter
