Hyundai i20 - Rust at base of rear window - technophobe

Anyone else had a problem with rust at base of rear window on the i20 At the moment it can be wiped away with some polish but will it get worse?

Its warranty provided you have kept the annual body and paint inspection up to date. Take it in and let them sort it. It will not get better by itself, like all rust it will get worse especially when salt gets on it.

Are you sure its rust I have never seen rust that can wiped away.

Are you sure its rust I have never seen rust that can wiped away.

It's rust-stained water that pools and evaporates - leaving rust in a wipe-clear form.

The rust itself may be from higher up and running down.

rust on the tailgate in a known problem on these cars, seen it mentioned on other forums, i pay attention as i have one, never seen it on my own though

as mentioned its covered under warranty assuming you have had servicing done at dealers on time etc

let the dealer sort it out under warranty
