I'm surprised they are still making them.

We had two of them some years ago and they both proved reliable and perhaps surprisingly (for jamie at least) rust free.

I lived in Sau Paulo for quite a long time driven many KMs in a Mille and sugar cane fuel.

I had an Uno is about 1985 or so. A spacious, comfortable and economical car with a certain style for the period. I thik they would look good if produced now.

I had a Fire one as an unlimited mileage hire car in Norfolk. When I returned the car after 5 weeks they were staggered I had done 4,000 miles. A great car to drive but somewhat flimsy feeling. During my tenure the driver's side window dropped into the door

I remember driving one of these many years ago when my Austin Maestro was paying one of it's regular visits to dealer for ongoing repairs.....

During my tenure the driver's side window dropped into the door

I had that with the one I owned. The glass was only secured to the winding mechanism with a large plastic peg which had a couple of lugs to stop it falling off. I soon fixed it by drilling a hole through the peg and putting a split pin through it. It never fell down again.

I did alot of miles in that car and it was quite economical, The body rusted quite a bit though.

They were a good, cheap, Economical car of the time.
