vauxhall Zafira B / Astra H - lights come on when engine is switched off - Kozzy

Hi I have a Vauxhall Zafira B 2006 life 1.6 - I have been led to believe its almost the same as the Astra H! My problem is this ...... When I turn the engine off the side lights come on (NOT PARKING LIGHTS) when I turn the engine on they switch off - I have spoken(on phone) to vauxhall techs and have been told different faults! I dont have los of money to throw at the car and need to either fix or sorn by end of the month ....... HELP plz regards Sarah
