VW Polo - VW Polo - High revs on start up - njs1999

Started car up yesterday and revs bounced straight up to about 2000, as though I had foot on accelerator.

The car had been tricky to start for a while about a month ago and then I had the throttle body cleaned out. It has been ok for about three weeks but it is back to struggling to start up again. Then, yesterday, it stayed revved up for about 30 seconds.

Any ideas please?
