2009 Mazda6 1.8 - Spare wheel - nick8660

I want to buy a full size spare wheel. Standard wheels are 205/60/16

Would a 205/55/16 alloy be suitable?

thanks

That tyre size is 3.14% smaller than your existing tyres, it wouldn't worry me as a temporary get me home spare only, miles better than a pot of goo and a toy pump, but not sure how an insurer or plod would react to different (not obvious spare fitment) sizes on the same axle.

Easy enough to fit the correct size tyre to the wheel, preumably you've checked the wheel in question is the right fit, including offset,, for your car.

You're quoting tyre sizes. Wheels are described by diameter, PCD, centre bore hole, offset and width.

Try this site for your size: www.wheelfitment.eu/

I do not know much about wheel dimensions!

The website says ocd 5*114.3, centre bore 67.1 and offset 50

Now to work that out...

Thanks for the advice

Ok PCD!

But www.wheelfitment.eu/ Says my offset is 50 but I took one of the wheels off and they have offset 55 cast on the inner side.

hmm

Offset can vary with wheel width, there will no doubt be several wheel choices for your car as there are for most, with varying width wheels (even if the same diameter) to accomodate the several differing sizes.

hmm, can't find your tyre size listed at all but these lists are never absolutely complete, what tyre sizes does the handbook specify?
