Have you had any experience of or reports about www.happynewcar.co.uk? They seem to be offering great deals on pre-registered new cars, ordered to your own spec. Being second registered keeper doesn't bother me, as I'll keep the car for years.

Beware of need to keep car in name of first keeper for N months after purchase. Can cause all kinds of problems with insurance and other legalities.

I thought the practice of dealer retaining the V5C had been declared illegal so shouldn't be happening at all.

Having just bought my wife a pre-reg Yaris, I can say that I beat their prices by some margin.

You have to pay them a deposit and pay them for the vehicle so there's the risk of dealing with a broker that you don't get if you buy via others like drive the deal. They have a poor credit rating that would make me wary so I'd look elsewhere for the same price or better and some comfort factor.
