New (old) Zafira questions - daveyK_UK

Are they still buildng them with the 1,8 petrol engine option? (all the deals seem to be for the gutless 1.6).

When are Vauxhall expecting to finish production?

New (old) Zafira questions - Auristocrat

The present Zafira is due to be replaced by the jointly GM/PSA developed model in 2015/2016 (when the GM Bochum plant will close). The new model is supposed to be using a PSA platform.

The Vauxhall website still lists the 1.8.

So what platform is the Zafira tourer built on?

Will the Zafira tourer only get a 3/4 year life cycle?

New (old) Zafira questions - Auristocrat

The current Zafira is based on the Astra H (2004-2010), and the Zafira Tourer based on the Astra J (2010 onwards).

The Zafira was kept in production after the Zafira Tourer was introduced, to provide a smaller, cheaper alternative in the Zafira range to the Tourer, which had increased in size.

Presumably the the C4 Picasso, C4 Grand Picasso, Zafira and Zafira Tourer will all be replaced by the new shared model - built by PSA in Spain.

New (old) Zafira questions - daveyK_UK

Today, the Vauxhall dealer offered me a brand new (not pre-reg) zafira 1.8 exclusive for £10,250 on the road with the lifetime warranty.

is the warranty any good?

Have they done anything to improve the low gearing on the zafira in the last few years?

I noticed the MPG figures for the 1.8 have slightly increased while the co2 has seen a small fall.

New (old) Zafira questions - oldroverboy.

Stange! I have the 1.6 petrol engine in the cruze, the 112hp not the 124, and though it is not a sprint car it is perfectly adequate. (and i might add 37-38mpg on the motorway without the problems of diesel) Maybe the gear ratios as daveyk says...............

For the OP, chevrolet have some Orlando 1.8 petrol models and on autotrader there is evidence of "new" pre-reg at about £10,000.

Bad enough Im considering another Vauxhall, couldnt bring myself to buying a cheapo GM version.

I assume the engine/gearbox of the 1.8 petrol Orlando is identical to the Zafira?

After researching on the Zafira owner forums, it would appear the gearbox ratios have not been sorted out and the zafira is geared towards town driving not motorways (4,000RPM at 78mph).

Its a shame, as I have hade zafira's previously but swore I would never go back due to the petrol engines inability to provide any poke, and the dire gearbox.
At £10,250 you get what you pay for.

The Chevrolet Orlando is based on the current cruze which is based on the same chassis as the current astra, (the zafira is based on the last generation astra)

I stand corrected.
It does look similar ot the zafira in size and shape.
Same 7 seat flex system.
Interior similar dimensions.
I assumed they had done a facelift to the Zafira and put on it a Chevvy badge.

No probelm!

in fact as the cruze is due to go.. (NEVER keep a car out of warranty) SWMBO aka youngrovergirl likes the orlando) so will try to find the deal. have since seen 1 for £9k less than 12 months old. 3300 miles

new aveo launched on same chassis as soon to be released "new" corsa.

trax= mokka

captiva= antara

cruze =astra

some cracking deals if people want to accept 10 miles registered vehicles, all, naturally on autotrad,,, others are available
