BMW X3 XDRIVE - D Vehicle damaged but repairable - the insurer dec - gmail pass

Hi,

Suggestion is highly appreciated.

I am looking to buy BMW X3 XDRIVE from a private seller and I have got HPI check done on it and the check came back with the below

D Vehicle damaged but repairable - the insurer decided not to repair

Data currently held on the National Mileage Register (NMR) indicates that there may be a mileage discrepancy on this vehicle - The mileage on the car says 22000 but the check came back with 40000

Should I look at buying the car or just pass it.If I wish to sell it in future would the Category D effect the price.

Regards,

Vij

Lets think about this.

The car is a Cat D and the seller did not tell you, you found out when you did the HPI check.

The mileage discrepancy indicates the car has probably been clocked.

What other gems are hiding on this desirable motor.

Surprised you need to ask the question.

Hi,
a cat d car should be at least 33% cheaper than a car that's not a cat d. You take a huge risk because you don't know how well the cars been repaired .

You can usually get the service / warranty history from BMW uk customer services ,that would tell you the mileage when a BMW dealer last had the car in for work .

Depending on the age of the car ,you also try a VOSA check ,that will show the cars mileage at its first mot .

So basically if the cars not very cheap ,walk away .In addition the car will always be on the register as a cat d and will always be worth much less .
