Is it chain or cam?

If cam, what is the reccomended change mileage/age?

How does it pull in the current hatchback?

It has a cam and it is driven with a chain.

Not driven one TBH but tried the 1.6 in a Ceed, complete slug unless you cane it all the time. Some may find it OK but after years of turbo diesels not for me. Try it and decide for yourself.

Subjectively my 1.4 i30 performs about the same as my previous 1.6 Corolla - similar power output (109 bhp) and provided you are prepared to use the gears its OK. Obviously not a Porsche or BMW beater away from the lights but I'm no longer a boy racer anyway.

(On motorways cruising at 60/70 mph returns 45mpg for me, about 35mpg urban running)
