Ford Focus 2001, 1.6 - Front and rear washer problems - Ritz-dog

Hi there, got a strange problem with my focus washer jets. If i press the button on the washer-stalk for the front washer to spray, 8 times out of 10 the rear wsher jet will spray instead. I ve already replaced the stalk with a new one but it's still the same. The rear washer works normally when the stalk is pulled forwards

Any ideas?

There is only one pump on these that does both front and rear washers,it incorporates a valve to prevent back flow.I would suspect a blockage in the bottom of the reservoir tank or a faulty pump.Access to the tank is in the left front wing.Usually requires removal of wheel and plastic wheelarch splash guard.hth

Will take you about 30 mins to get the crud out thats blocking the washer bottle.

I did a east video for this as itsa a common problem
