My LCD panel at the centre console seems like very dim at the left side display. The temp display was much brighter.

I have the same problem with my \'99 306 HDi.
Anyone know if there\'s an easy to get to bulb behind the clock/outside temp. display

Haynes page 11.25, item 32.
In essence, prise out the plastic facia panel that surrounds the clock and four round buttons.
This is shown in a photograph with a screwdriver tip inserted in the lower left hand corner between the facia panel and the surround it sits in.
Once removed, it is simply a matter of undoing two screws to remove the clock, though if they are anything like all the screws I've seen so far on my wife's 306, they will be Torx, not plain, Philips, or Posidrive.

I also have the same problem - hitting the console just to the left of the console seems to do the trick. Been like it since i fitted a radio, so i'm assuming i disturbed something and there's a loose connection - maybe worth checking before you buy a new clock

Yep, I can confirm it's a fairly easy job - I did one yesterday

'Did one' being replacing the bulb?
|
No, it wasn't......I was tracing an air-con fault :-( which incidentally turned out to be a burnt out relay in the fusebox - after I'd stripped out the centre console/radio part of the dash!
|
Er, so it was a fuse problem?? The clock display, I mean?
Coincidentally I currently have a problem with my air con too at the moment...you're not near Bristol, are you? Perhaps you'd like to fix both for me! ;-)

I'm down in Cider Country - just outside Taunton :-)
