Nissan TerranoII 2.7 TDI (2004) - Changing the real differential oil - GallopingGirlie

I've had issues with squeaky/screechy noises from the rear prop shaft, and have had a new universal joint fitted, which has partially fixed the problem. However, there is still a squeaking/squealing noise after about 15 minutes driving/over 50 MPH.

I've been advised to change the rear differential oil, but I am completely and utterly un-mechanically minded/skilled, and really don't know how to do this/where to start!

The fact that there is no such thing as a workshop manual for the Terrano doesn't help...can anyone give me any basic advice/a diagram maybe on how to do this?

I'd be very grateful!!!

Jo

You need to find out if there is an actual drain plug if there is find out what type of oil and how much is required.I very much doubt if changing the oil will cure your problem but its worth a try.
