Nissan Note - Peeling Paintwork - Weemorris

My Nissan Note Tekna was 2 years old in February and has circa 26,000 miles on the clock. Recently (within the last month) the lacquer has begun to peel off from two areas on the front and both patches are getting worse. My Nissan dealer has sent photos of the affected areas to Nissan who say it is stone damage and are not interested.

I genuinely think this is a copout and the paintwork is not fit for purpose.

In view of the age of the car do I have any recourse?
