"I would like to put the lower rear bumper of an ML550 on my 2013 ML350 Bluetec. It looks like it may be relatively inexpensive. Does anybody know the part number for this, the cost, and how much labor is involved? Has anyone done this? I just think the ML550 AMG style painted rear lower looks much nicer and it seems like one of the cheaper items to change out to get the look." ...Pleased reply..

I would imagine your local Mercedes dealer could give you a price or point you to the bodyshop they use. Companies like Kahn Design would probably also undertake this work.I do not imagine it would be cheap. I once spoke to someone who has spent so much on changing the appearance of his Range Rover it nearly made me cry! He could have got an MGR V8 for the weekends and used the change to run it. Let us kow how you get on.

Proper mercedes vehicles have to be carefully and sympathetically altered, putting part of an AMG bodykit on an otherwise standard car can look crass and give the impression of the owner that might not be complimentary....baseball hatted boys with their drain pipe exhausts and rivetted on kerb scraped spoilers spring to mind.

Good body modifications well designed and well executed will cost serious money on a Benz, think thousands.

Possibly cheaper selling the present car and buying the genuine article, an amateurish or badly modified MB will not be desirable used either.

Have to agree totally with the previous poster. As a future classic I have a Vauxhall Calibra. There are some with subtle and tasteful body modifications about but some body kits are horrendous. My only thoughts are to change the side repeaters as the standard 80s/90s Vauxhall offering look ,like a bolt on extra!
