Currently in the process of changing car, from my zippy, handles like it's on rails, but frankly slow Fiat Punto Sporting. I'm after a marginally bigger 3 door hatch, much quicker, couldn't really give a stuff about image, 3-4 years old car for about £8000.
The Civic VTI looks really good and is favourite at the mo, but I was wondering if anyone could recommend a similar performing/sized car for the same dosh.

Should be able to get into an R/S plate Integra Type R for that money. HUGELY quicker and has a sizeable boot, unlike the briefcase slot they call the boot in the Civic.
I found the handling got sloppy after about 25,000 miles on my 96/N VTi. Not so on the Integra owned by a colleague.

Just an added comment on the VTi. Once the handling got sloppy, it didn't get noticably worse up to my getting rid at 80,000 miles (a modest 18 months later).
Company car. They wouldn't accept that it needed new shocks....
