Jaguar X-Type - Comfortable ride - franklin

My wife is unhappy with the harsh ride she is getting on 17" wheels. What would be the optimum wheel (and tyre) for a more comfortable ride ?

Any advice on where to buy ( near Edgware / NW London ) ?

16" is preferably but be carefull as some x type cars were built with larger discs which do not allow some smaller aftermarket wheels to fitted also if they do fit they can catch the trackrod ends on full lock so be carefull.

With 16" succesfully installed you will notice a big difference in ride quality.

I am nothing to do with this company, and we didn't buy wheels from them when my son smashed two of his S type wheels in a huge pot hole, he managed to find a used set.

However the chap at SB was nothing but helpful and had new genuine Jag wheels and refurbs at very good prices, what he didn't know about Jaguar wheels wasn't worth knowing, i have put him on my favourites for future reference.

My X type SE had 17 inch wheels and it was the most comfortable ride of any car I've owned.

Depending on the age of the car some Sport versions also had 17 inch wheels, coupled with sports suspension, so changing the wheels may not have the desired effect.

What size tyres and at what pressure are on the car. It is rare to hear complaints about the ride in this car.
