VectraC TDCI 150 - Replacement dampers and struts - spongy

the original ride set up for comfort has now gone to wallowing and spongy at 46K miles. I have quotes to have them replaced all round but the Service Centres are vague about the make and ride I will get except Halfords who offered Monroe Gas-Matic. I went on Monroe website to find out more but do not see these. Ideally I want a firmer ride than the original buit I dodnot know how to achieve that. Maybe they all try to replicate the original ride? Anyone know the best type to get ? - I am not doing it on the cheap! - Spongy

You're looking to improve the ride and handling on a Vectra C?

The first Vectras had suspension set up for the German market UK customer found it much to hard so the later versions of the UK Vectra had softer suspension. But I agree with TeeCee these cars were never meant to be anything other than repmobiles.
