peugeot 306td 1998 - Very heavy clutch. - sparky100

Hi, my daughters 306 has got a very heavy clutch pedal, i've taken the cable off and oiled it and checked the pedal which seems to be ok.There's no clutch slip and everything is operating as it should. Does anyone know what could could make it so heavy. When in traffic it actually makes your leg ache.Thanks for any help in advance.

if the cable is free when off the car then it will be the clutch at fault and will need replacing

Typical of a worn clutch on cars of that era I'm afraid.

the clutch cable runs over a hot part of the exhaust and the grease solidifies. Oiling the cable from the ends may not resolve the problem. I'd go for a brand new cable before looking at anything else.
