Hardly news, I know, but we seem to be in a parallel world. I have been idly browsing a few ads and have come across (I won't link to it) a 2006 Volvo V50 1.8 petrol with 98,000 miles on it up for £8,499. I bought a 2007 Ford Focus estate (the same car) with fewer miles on it for £1,250 in 2016!
That one might be a misprint but trade prices recently have been through the roof again with everything fetching well "over book" so I think the only way is still up at the moment....
Even the bargain EVs have disappeared with things like MGs making well over book and Teslas through the roof compared to just a few months ago.
I've been looking for a cheapish and reliable, small but roomy automatic for Son and Daughter in law, so naturally the Jazz figured in my searches. There is a 2015 example on Autotrader right now for £11.5k, and that is a 2nd gen car (3rd gen deputed in the same year). Granted it has only done 11k miles, but even so.......!
For those with off road parking, a used EV like a Renault Zoe or Nissan Leaf makes much more sense to me. No way I’d pay £11.5k for a decade old Jazz, when I could have a 3yr old low mileage Renault Zoe 50kwh for less which can do over 200 miles without any effort (far more than any automatic Honda Jazz owner will cover in a day) and costs buttons to fuel and maintain - it’s also much nicer to drive.
