Mazda 2.0 Skyactive - Mazda 3 2015 Skyactive Warranty - Geoff Ray.

Hello all Honest John Forum fans!

I’m the proud owner of a 2015 Mazda 3, which so far seems a solid car. I like it very much. The only thing I’ve noticed is that it feels happiest cruising at 70mph – it doesn’t seem to settle as well at 50–60mph on motorways. Maybe that’s just me!

It does need a bit of work to sort some minor blemishes and MOT advisories, which I’ll get done.

I’m now considering an extended warranty, but it’s difficult to compare providers. There’s Warranty Direct, MotorEasy, RAC, AA and others. Which do you think is the fairest and most reliable? Is there anywhere these are compared?

I’ve read this page, but Honest John doesn’t seem to be allowed to compare companies:

Thanks for your time!

Save your money.

Any. “ warranty“ on a car that age isn't worth the paper it's written on.

As above, waste of your money.

Companies which provide aftermarket warranties do so for one reason alone, to make profit. Their whole business model is based on the likelihood that you will never use the warranty. In the case of an inherently unreliable car, there will be many clauses in the small print through which they can worm their way (at least without a lengthy legal battle) out of their supposed obligations. But in the case of an inherently reliable car like a petrol engined 3, it is very unlikely anything will go wrong.

By all means, set up a savings account into which you can put whatever the monthly warranty fee is. That way there will be money just in case, but you will be accruing the interest from your money, not them.

As above, none of them.

Spend some of the useless warranty costs on better than typical (not a high bar) maintenance and treating any rust issues underneath.
