I use AA Wireless and it works perfectly.

Just a thought, but how new is your phone? I had problems with my old Motorola, which basically wasn't fast enough to keep up. I replaced it with a Google Pixel 4a and had no further problems. I use Anker cables and they haven't given me any problems. Not tried AA wireless because I don't use the phone in the car enough, it works fine with the cable.

What type of cable is it ? It needs to be a high quality / spec item, Also check USB C socket in the phone re fluff etc - a plastic tooth pick can be a useful item to remove any detritus etc.

I don't need as my Swace is already wireless Android Auto but on forums "https://www.aawireless.io/en" regularly mentioned re successful wireless AA with slightly older cars.

Any idea of the power output of the cars USB socket? Maybe its not powerful enough to charge a modern smart phone & is becoming overloaded resulting in it disconnecting - this happened on older Peugeot / Citroen products, cured by using a data only USB cable.

As for a dongle, I have used the original AA Wireless dongle in both a Peugeot & a Toyota, worked perfectly with both.
