Dacia Duster - Dacia stalk lights on auto - Stephen jordan

Brought dacia duster when I have the light stalk set to auto

Have noticed the rear lights also come on is this correct

Yes, perfectly normal.

The only time you’ll see lights on at the front but not at the rear is during daylight and the daytime running lights are on.

Also known as headlight flasher - can be useful in warning other drivers of your presence!

The important word in my post is "push". If the stalk is "pushed" the headlamps come on main beam and remain on. The headlamps will flash if the same stalk is "pulled" towards the driver and go off when released.

Saw an odd one today on a Duster, well 99% sure it was a Duster.

Coming towards me indicating right, DRL goes out that side as indicator operating all good, when indicator cancelled both indictors gave one final flash (as if hazards) before both resorting to DRL...no one to thank for a courtesy and no one as i could see following who he might have been 'waving' bye bye to.

On the subjest of indicators i had the misfortune of driving a 12 plate 3 cyl Corsa 'courtesy' car on Saturday, dear Lord what a dreadful thing gutless or what, i've never got my head around the indicators on Vauxhalls of the era and this thing was no different, maybe its just me...as for lack of power reminded me of all those ex BSM 3 pot Corsas i used to shift back on my previous work, without a run up totally incapable of pulling themslevs up onto the top deck of a transporter, an achievement shared by thankfully few others, mainly Escort 1.4 lean burn and Fiat 500 with automated manual gearbox, the latter couldn't even manage the top deck after a run up.

I did my instructor training with BSM on those things - on my instructor driving ability test, I was on a dual carriageway trying to keep up with the traffic flow at 70 mph, the examiner said "Is this as fast as this car will go?" So I dropped it down to 4th or 5th I can't remember which, foot down as far as it would go, no increase in speed - just an increase in noise, she said "Ok it's not a motorway car is it?" (She was an ex-traffic cop)
I passed though !

At that time Corsa's had a problem with indicators. You moved the stalk to signal, intermittently nothing happened so I went to the Vauxhall dealer service desk, and they said to change the bulb, I said the bulb is ok when it works , they said change the bulb, I did it worked - ????

My 2021 Duster behaved the same way if the dip/main beam switch was pushed forwards. Couldn't work out what use this 'feature' was. The dealer said it was normal. Another annoying thing on the Duster is that if you accidentally knock the indicator stalk (I do it all the time), the indicators flash 3 times and there's nothing you can do about it.

All my cars have done that for years, its for changing lane.

Was it vauxhall who invented the soft touch indicator.. Bless them.
