Colchester dealerships - The merry go round - Orb>>.

In the Past Couple of years we have had a fair few Changes.

Underwoods who were Skoda, Kia, Vauxhall and Mazda on the same site with Vauxhall in one showroom and Kia and Mazda in another closed in 2023. Skoda were on a bigger site across the road also closed. Skoda now share what was the VW site near the football stadium and take up 50% of the showrooms which are "separated" but same receptionist on the door who will direct as needed. Nearest Vauxhall dealer is now a trek up to Bury st Edmunds.

The Old Vauxhall site is now Honda cars and motorcycles and Mazda.

Kia ( Now Glyn Hopkin ) have moved up to the top of Ipswich road by the A12 to the ex Honda site and recently joined by Glyn Hopkin Nissan who have moved out of a constricted site in the town which was shared with Renault and dacia all of which were Glyn Hopkin.

Volvo have moved to take up the huge Skoda site.

Here round SW Brum there seems to be a lot of changes too. Loss of sales volumes, rising costs and even the used car only sites are suffering too. More than one make on several sites that used to be independent.

Having just googled them, I'm sad to see that Quest Motors (Vauxhall) and Doe Motors (Ford) in Maldon are no more. Quest seem to be Suzuki-only and now in Braintree.

Nearest Vauxhall main dealer to Colchester? How about 35m away in Laindon Essex or Sarfend on Sea? Toomeys sir. Where I shall be visiting on the 23rd of this very month. A veritable glass palace of new and used veehicles, and a pretty darn good service team. My very local dealer.. for my Mokka-e .

There's also County Motor Works in Chelmsford nr Chelmer Villarge, but I've not used them.

YES Ethan.....D Salmon. well regarded by a good friend.

Also unchanged for years is Roy Tolley. MG citroen and peugot neighbours who have 2 C!'s very happy with them. But HIGH prices.

By the way.. email me when you have time for a pint in the Victoria... ORB

And it looks like Glyn Hopkin Colchester are no longer selling new Renault and new Dacia on the same site in the Town.

Edit. I checked on both websites and used car sales and servicing/aftercare.
