Nice, gone back to 1968 have they a good old rocker switch as found in Fodens and other state of the art vehicles.

Go on, spill the beans, what marvel have they dreamed up this time which no one asked for.

My own thoughts are unprintable.

The more i see the more I like the dashboard of the Korando. Everything is where you would expect it to be and the only thing I need to do otherwise is to touch the microphone button on android auto and say my destination or use history, which I can do before departure.

I imagine that Audi think that it is progress.

Anyone remember the little left-or-right switch on the steering-wheel boss, back in 'trafficator' days ? :-)

Nothing new there . The Citroen Visa had a satellite pod to the left of the steering wheel with all the important functions on it .,

I remember my Mum's A35 (or was it A30?) which had a rotary indicator switch in the middle of the dash.

Whilst at University in the late '60's, my own car as a provisional driver was a Standard Vanguard Estate with the Indicators on the middle of the steering wheel, the gear shift (3 speed) on the column and an "umbrella style" handbrake . My girlfriends car, a Morris Minor, had the rotary indicator switch as the A35, the gears on the tunnel and the handbrake on the RHS of the driver. The Driving School car, in which I took, and passed, my test, a Triumph Herald, had the "normal" configuration of the controls with an indicator stalk, Handbrake and gear shift on the LHS.....Not a problem for a young man.

The Visa wasn't the only Citroen without an indicator stalk, the CX, GS (late) and BX (early) also had an indicator switch mounted on a pod.

The original Uno had pods as well.

We,ll be going back to hand signals next..

Unlikely for some as they'd risk dropping their mobile out of the window.

Its nonsense. I don't know if Audi or the press started this, but it absolutely does have an indicator stalk . It's very short and square, but you push it down to indicate left and up to indicate right.

My A30 had that.

My 1946 Rover 16 had electric semaphore arms.

My 1929 Riley none - had easy opening driver's window for hand signals.

Audi drivers ?!

I’m old enough to remember hand signals which were obligatory on tests in the early sixties

Audi - Doh ! - Orb>>.

Yes. I remember doing hand signals for my car and motorbike tests.

Hand signals are undeniably the perfection of clarity. The driver has certainly not deceived any other motorists by forgetting to turn off/on an electronic device!
