vauxhall zafira b - MAF sensor replacement. - Mr Glenn Pierce

Hi I have a number of ECU errors which are most like related to the MAF sensor. I have replace the air filter and cleaned the MAF sensor with Liquid Moly cleaner.

It has not helped though. Looking at live data from the ECU just gives 0's for the live MAF

looking at car parts sites using my reg gives MAF sensors in housings which can't be right as the housing does not come off on my car.

A ipc of my car

Do I need to prise the sensor out ? Anyone know of viids of that ?

Can anyone provide a link to a cheap replacement.

Thanks

What engine do you have ? That photo is not the maf sensor.

That would explain it.
My engine details are

Engine size: 1.8L (1796cc)

Fuel type: Petrol

Aspiration: Naturally aspirated (non-turbo)

Cylinders: 4

Reg WG63NHT

I have no idea where that sensor is then. Probably not easily accessible.

Should be located in the air intake pipe system . 4 pin connector. May be secured to the pipe work with 2 screws . Depending on what engine control system fitted , it may not have a maf sensor, in which case it’ll have a Map sensor.

I could see anything near the air intake which goes into the air filter then past the sensor I now think is the temperature sensor.

Could it be possible the firmware just refers to MAF when they could also mean MAP ?

Thanks

Yes , as I thought. The sensor in the air trunk is the air temp sensor. There’s no maf sensor on this system. It’ll have a Map sensor on the inlet manifold. If the engine is running ok , then that fault code p1071 could indicate an air leak on the system, not necessarily a faulty component.
