Ford Capri and Omoda E5 - Seen recently - Orb>>.

Saw the two above cars in the past few days out on the local roads.

Omoda grey ? overtook me and looked fairly innocuous..

In our street some one visited a neighbour and the Ford, in yellow looked quite nice.

I still think Ford have missed a trick re the new Capri styling. Just look at the new Renault 5, I suspect that will sell well!

The equivalent Omoda undercuts the Capri by at least £10,000 and is available with 0% APR. I'm sure the Omoda won't score as highly as the Capri in many areas but to many people that won't matter.

See loads of them up here. Family sized car for the price of a car from the class down, but it’s a total unknown and to me it’s still too expensive. Depreciation will be horrendous, but that’s good news for the used buyer, as long as they prove robust.

As long as you are not tall, especially with the sunroof versions. I tried them...

I agree, there's nothing on the new Capri that even hints at the past cars in my eyes, they've just followed the herd and produced yet another bland 'suv'.

The Renault however does at least point towards its past.

Can't say I can tell the difference between the various Ford SUVs now being produced and I certainly don't see many around.

While away recently I did see a Lucid showroom - a brand I'd never heard of - proudly announcing they were available from just 91,000 CHF. The showroom wasn't very busy! I also saw a new Renault 5 in a showroom and it does look well in the Renault yellow.

Lucid are a Californian company (with a connection Tesla) so current political sentimant might hold it back outside the USA for a while. The Lucid Air looks like it could be a natural successor to the Tesla S.

It's got a curvy rear quarter window! I don't know why they called it a Capri, although in Australia a Ford Capri is a terrible little thing, so it's only us that think of it as a RWD coupe.

I suppose it gets their engagement statistics up with thousands of people complaining about it.

Is it me or does that Omoda look like a cross between the KIA Sportage (front) and the Nissan Qashqai (rear)?
