Volkswagen Passat - Heating problem - Gerard H

Hi all. Having a problem with my 2014 2.0 TDI BMT Passat.

Just this morning a loud clicking noise has appeared when the heating or aircon is on. The noise appears to be coming from the drivers side, near the pedals.

Online research suggests that this is a faulty blend door actuator / air recirc flap motor.

Any video I have looked at on YouTube is for a LWD and doesn't fill a novice like me with confidence.

Would any kind soul offer advice on how to fix this on a RWD? Money is low so near Xmas so want to avoid the garage if possible (been told its easy to fix lol)

It’s possible the blend flap actuator arm is broken . It’s a plastic linkage . You’ll need to drop the drivers under dash panel for access . Sits on the side of the heater box , above your left leg . Easy fix ? That must be Google. Get them to do the job .

Could it be a leaf drawn in through the plenum chamber? Lift your bonnet and have you lots of leaves at the back of the engine bay?
