Does anyone have any idea how much it is likely to cost to fix a car door that closes still but is misaligned and can move slightly indicating it’s not as secure as it was, having hit a post while open - so impact with inside of the door at very low speed? Have it booked in for a quote but this isn’t for a couple of weeks unfortunately so would Iike an idea of what to expect. The door itself has no damage whatsoever. It’s obviously just been knocked slightly out of place. Thanks

Is it booked into a dealer? Just drive it to an independent Body repair place and they will give you a price. Sounds as though you have moved the hinges or bent something slightly. Perhaps £200 at most if the door has to be removed. Try a couple of places if not happy with the first quote.

Definitely a question for a bodyshop, not a franchised dealer, who might be useful if parts are needed. But usually they would hand on any bodywork or paint jobs to a bodyshop anyway, and add something to the cost for their trouble.

All depends if the A post, (where the door hangs on the inges has been damaged.

You might be able to adjust the hinges a bit, not sure on modern cars, but saw it on an XJS where the cleaner opened it in traffic and the open door was hit by another vehicle. very slow, but a pillar damage meanta write off.

Goto a bodyshop, not a main dealer, as others say.
