Nissan Note - Cost of tailgate repair - crowncd

The tailgate on our Nissan Note has failed so we can't easily get into the boot - only via the back passenger doors. All the other doors are fine and open with the remote key.

Could anyone give me some idea of the likely cost of repair? I know it's got to be done but would like some idea before I go to the garage.

Is there no provision for opening with a normal (old-fashioned mechanical) key ? Anyway you could go to a 'garage' for an answer to your question - shouldn't cost.

If it’s the electrical latch that has failed , then probably not too expensive a job . I guess around £100 all fitted .

Please check on the Nissan Note Owners Club site.

I seem to remember that this was a common issue on the E11 version with the tailgate wiring being of questionable quality.

I can't imagine the later E12 version being any better
