Subaru Outback 2.5 petrol Auto 2010 - Subaru AT Temp warning light flashing - willyb

Hi, Hope someone can help with this please. Reversing camera and reversing lights packed in and worked briefly after I replaced the fuse, but this blew again. Now I have this warning light flashing on start up when the car is cold. and according to the handbook this may indicate that the transmission is not working properly. The car drives as normal. Would appreciate any advice please. Is it the Subaru garage; are they any good? Or a an auto electrician to start with?

Feel pretty sure this is all related, and incidentally before the camera stopped I noticed some water ingress in the boot.

Thanks

Willyb

I’m not too familiar with this car, but I suspect the fuse for the reverse lights also supplies power to a circuit for the gearbox electrics . Subaru tech info can be difficult to source , so you may want to search out a specialist.

I think you are answering your own question. Problem at the rear Water getting in on electrics either affecting rev lamps or the camera. Message would relate back to the gearbox when reversing. Working after replacing fuse so probably water.

Auto electrician probably cheaper than Sub dealer but will the former find the leak? You could find the leak yourself, fix and replace the fuse

Take it to the Subaru garage in first instance, and if the quote is ridiculous, take it to a Subaru specialist (if they exist) or an auto electrician.

Hi,

Drove the car to Subaru (30miles) and all OK apart from the flashing light. They have confirmed it is an electrical issue, which they are trying to trace. Many thanks to all who replied.
